More Moodle Mobile (for #iphone) details

More details have come to light regarding the exciting Moodle for Mobile project by the Institute of Tropical Medicine Alexander von Humboldt (IMTAvH) in Lima and the Institute of Tropical Medicine (ITM) in Antwerp.  This collaborative project should be the first to successfully create a widely usable Mobile Moodle app for iPhone, iTouch and Android handsets.  The screen shots shared at Moodle.org ( ) are certainly groundbreaking and have electrified the community.

Read more at http://ignatiawebs.blogspot.com/ (Ignatia Webs) where the coordinator of eLearning at the Institute of Tropical Medicine blogs regularly.  Here’s the specific post: http://ignatiawebs.blogspot.com/2010/02/yes-mobile-moodle-for-iphone-is.html?dsq=37002598#comment-37002598,

How did they do it? They got hold (after politely being given the permission) of the WPtouch for iPhone code by Dale Mugford of Bravenewcode. They started exchanging notes on the mobile moodle forum and only in an amazing 1 (one!) month of developing, they managed to get this amazing code going.

So keep in touch, tweet it, say it, media it…. and we will soon be releasing the complete codes for you to transform to your own needs.

Indeed, spread the word!

We are about to publish MTouch, the first and only native IPhone application for Moodle. MTouch does not require server side changes and is directly usable by the students.

You can download the “Try before you buy” free Windows version from http://www.pragmasql.com/home/moodletouch/download-mtouch.aspx
